Cow skin drum

I like this drum a lot and used it in several drum journeys. In the same time I imagine is one of those that is not for everyone.

It is not that kind of overtone rich, beautifully singing instrument. This one is deep and only deep. The hair basically removes all the high tones and what remains is a solid, visceral bass.

Instead of a skin handle, I used cotton and made it big and sturdy so there is something to grab since it is a big and heavier drum.
